June 2026 Card Sketch Design Challange

Lately there have been a lot of card sketches shared online, through blog posts and videos, and Stampin' Up! even has them in the new catalogs. These are diagrams for layouts to give a person a starting place from which to design and create. You can follow them exactly, or you can vary it a little.

I was watching an idea shared by Kelly Acheson, and at the end she shared some cards that she received as swaps. I don't remember her telling the person who createdvthem, and I looked at the ideas to create my version of the cards.

I've issued a Design Challenge to those in my email group for June 2026. The card sketches below are to be used (make it your own with any stamps, ink, & paper) to make a cards, or make all of the cards. Take a photo of the card created, either email it orctext it to me, and I will share the ideas after June 21st. This way we can see how others interpreted the sketch. This should be fun. Do you accept the challenge?

Card Sketch #1, Reverse Modified Gate Fold
Create the base with any cardstock; the "book bind" will be on the right side of the front (glue these 1 1/4" sections together to create the book bind).
Create layers with DSP, coordinating cardstock, or embossed layers. The front square panel will only adhere to the right side "book bind" edge, and the other section will fold in under the front square panel.
Add any die cuts, stamps, or embellishments you wish.

Card Sketch #2, Vertical Tri-Fold:
Create the tri-fold with either cardstock or DSP, and add additional layers as desired. Use die cuts, stamps, labels, & embellishments.
Card Sketch #3, Torn Reveal:
This is a basic card base (not a fun fold). The concept here is to reveal something from behind by tearing the front cardstock (remember to tear it toward the front of the card to show the torn edge). This would be great using a scenic Designer Series Paper (like trees, water, beach, sunset, etc.). Add die cuts, stamped images, label, & embellishments as desired.

Card Sketch #4, Double Card Fold:
This is great for showing off both sides of DSP by using that as the layer for the main card fold, and then adding a smaller cardstock card that folds toward the right.

You can change any of the dimensions to fit as you like. My measurements are for reference only. Sketches are intended to give us a springboard for ideas. Use whatever stamps, ink & paper you have, or buy something new to try. Have fun and share what you love with us. Send pictures of your card(s) by June 21st, so I can create the email and blog post. Happy stamping!
