Black and White with a POP of Color!

There's nothing quite like the black and white card with a singular color added to make something pop on a card. Of course when you add a fun fold it really comes alive!

I fell in love with one of the more current popular fun folds that creates a pinwheel tower that can be displayed on a desk or shelf. For these cards I primarily used the Color and Contour bundle with some bright colors from the color family 6" X 6" stacks. I also learned that there is a super pack of Designer Series Paper in the Host area called Pattern Party that has one side as black and white designs and the other side colorful prints.
I followed directions from Kristina Rees another Independent Demonstrator. There is a variation that you might also look up from Dawn Griffith where she made it less bulky.
  • 5 3/4" X 4 1/4" Black cardstock; score in landscape at 3/4", 1 1/2", 2 1/4" and 3"
  • 2 3/4" X 4 1/4" (X 3) Black cardstock
  • 2 3/4" X 4 1/4" (X 3) black & White Designer Series Paper (DSP)
  • 2" X 4 1/4" black & White DSP (same design as above)
  • 2" X 4 1/4" (X 3) color DSP
  • 2" X 4 1/4" White cardstock
  • 13" White Glittered Organdy ribbon
  • Scrap white cardstock to stamp and cut out flowers, leaves and tags
  • Embellishments
Watch the video for assembly.

The other fun fold has been around for a long time, and I used the measurements shared by Lisa Cursio, Independent Demonstrator. Again, I used the Color and Contour bundle with black and white DSP and a pop of color.

Another card I made using the Black & White with a Pop of Color used a fun fold called book binding that several Independent Demonstrators shared.
Thanks for reading my blog and sharing something I love.
