Technically Foiled

There are so many techniques out in the stamping world using foils. Some that showed up in the search included, dry embossing using aluminum foil and foil specialty papers, suedo-soot, antiquing, weathering, or verdigris, gold leaf, and so on. The two I chose for the September in person stamp class was dry embossing foil sheets and a black ice technique.

This first card was inspired by Cheri Stojkovich. It uses Rose Gold Foil, large rectangular die from Painted Labels dies, silver embossing powder, Timber 3D embossing folder, and a retired Sale-a-bration stamp set Delicate Dahlias. You could use any flower two-step stamp set that you have.

This card uses:
5 1/2" X 8 1/2" Petal Pink cardstock; score in landscape at 4 1/4"
5 3/8" X 4 1/8" Cajun Craze cardstock
1 3/4" X 3 7/8" Rose Gold Foil (1 of each sheet)
5 1/4" X 4" Basic White cardstock
Large rectangular die (Painted Labels) cut from Petal Pink
Ribbon, twine, or thread to go behind the label
Clear gems or other Embellishment desired
Here is a video to see how to make this card.

The other card actually combines two techniques--one stamping and one fun fold. I used the stamps from Celebrate Sunflowers. The fun fold technique came from Rachel Tessman because hers seemed to be easier to understand, and there were several people I watched for the Black Ice technique.

You will need:
5 1/2" X 8 1/2" Crushed Curry cardstock; score in landscape at 4 1/4"
5 1/4" X 4" Designer Series Paper (DSP)--I used Rustic Harvest
5 1/4" X 4" Basic White cardstock
2 3/4" X 2 3/4" Silver Foil sheet
11" Silvered-edged ribbon
Colored gems (the ones shown are retired)
Watch the video for the corner flip fold technique and Black Ice technique and completing the card.

Another example I made used the Splendid Day specialy foil paper, Forever Fern stamp set, Forever Flourishing dies, and a fun fold that I got from Barb Pfeffer.
Try this:
5 1/2" X 8" base cardstock; score in landscape at 2" & 6", turn to portrait and cut between the score lines at 1 1/4" from each side, turn back to landscape and score between the cut lines at 3" & 5", and finally score from the outer edges in to the cut lines at the top and bottom (see template below)

Layers:
Outer sides--5 3/8" X 1 7/8" (X 2); 5 1/4" X 1 3/4" (X 2)
Inner sides--2 7/8" X 7/8" (X 2); 2 3/4" X 3/4" (X 2)
Tops & Bottoms--1 7/8" X 1 1/8" (X 4); 1 3/4" X 1" (X 4)
Center--2 7/8" X 7/8"; 2 3/4" X 1 3/4" and/or other labels, stamps, etc.
