Birthday Fun for Children (and the Young at Heart)

Sometimes it might be hard to know how to make a fun card to be enjoyed by children. Stampin' Up! has many great stamp sets that appeal to children and many adults as well. Sometimes we just need to get one of these and take a step out of our comfort zone to try something different.

When I saw Peekaboo Farm, I knew I would get it because I have an adult son that loves everything farm and horses in particular. There have been so many ideas sharing it on the internet, so I tried a few. My class host chose this one using the Picture This dies.
I saw this idea on Pinterest, but couldn't find who created it. I used Stampin' Blends to color the images, but you could use Stampin' Write markers or watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I also made additional hooves to glue to the card front and give it more dimension.

5 1/2" X 8 1/2" Thick Basic White cardstock
5 1/4" X 4" Crumb Cake cardstock, cut the rectangles dies on this piece
Scrap Basic White cardstock for stamping animals and extra hooves

Watch the video on putting this together.

Others I made with this set include one that I saw an Independent Demonstrator give credit back to Wendy Fee using the circles from Picture This dies.
And this one using the Give It a Whirl dies and painted Labels dies, along with the Welcoming Window stamp set and dies inspired by Amy Koenders.

One of the cutest stamp sets that you can get for free is Awesome Otters from the January-February 2022 Sale-a-bration brochure with a $50 Stampin' Up! merchandise purchase (US). I saw this idea from Heather Heroldt. I used the retired Seaside embossing folder; however, you could use any water type embossing folder like the retired High Seas, or the new background stamp Gentle Waves in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog instead. I also used some retired Subtles designer series paper (DSP) from a previous catalog that I had on hand, as well as some DSP from a previous Sale-a-bration.
I used watercolor pencils with a blender pen to color the images. You could use Stampin' Blends or Stampin' Write markers as desired.
