Fun Folds for Christmas (or Any Occasion)

There are so many really creative fun folds that people have come up with. These techniques inspired me to make some quick cards for Christmas that may help give you an early start.

This first card is using a pop out technique that has been around for a while. I was inspired by Patty Bennett and Kelly Acheson, fellow Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. The card will lay flat to fit in a medium sized envelope and will pop out to stand on a desk or shelf.

I used some of the Peaceful Prints (Sale-a-bration item) designer series paper for this example, as well as the Wonderful Snowflakes and a sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set. You could use any designer series paper, colored cardstock, embellishments and sentiment for really any occasion.
Base:
4 ¼” X 8 3/8” Cardstock; score in landscape at 3/8”, 1 3/8”, 2 7/8” and 3 7/8”
4” X 2 ¾” Designer Series Paper (DSP)

Front Panel:
3” X 4 7/8” Cardstock; score in landscape at 3/8” and 1 3/8”
 2 ¾” X 3 ¼” DSP

Back Panel (if desired):
4 1/8” X 4 3/8” coordinating Cardstock or DSP (or White/Vanilla cardstock if only want one layer)
4” X 4 ¼” White/Vanilla (if used another layer)

Wonderful Snowflake (large shiny snowflake)
1 3/8” Circle punched from white cardstock after stamping sentiment
Embellishments and ribbon as desired

The next card is a quick "easy peasy" gift card holder that I saw Karen Titus, Independent Demonstrator, share from Cindy Bauman. This also could be used for any occasion.

I used the Peaceful Place designer series paper, silver foil, Scalloped Contours dies, Tasteful Labels dies, Metallic Mesh ribbon, and the Peaceful Deer stamp set for this sample. This is another card where you could change the designer series paper, stamps, embellishments, and so on to create a gift card holder for any occasion.

4 ¼” X 11” Basic Gray/Smoky Slate cardstock; score in landscape at 5 ½”
2 ¼” X 5 ¼” white/vanilla cardstock (for inside if base is a colored cardstock)
2 3/8” X 5 3/8” cardstock (if using another layer—silver foil as below)
2 ¼” X 5 ¼” Designer Series Paper (DSP)
1 5/8” X 5 3/8” cardstock (if using another layer—silver foil as below)
1 ½” X 5 ¼” DSP
Label layer (something to fit over the split on the front—Scallop Contour Die as below)
Label layer for stamping (Tasteful Label as used below)
Embellishments as desired (ribbon, sequins, jewels/dots)
