Trusty Tools for Trusty Guys

It was great that Stampin' Up! carried forward the Trusty Tools stamp set and dies so that I could share some cards made with these for Father's Day coming up. There were several ideas that I had come across since this set came out, and I just haven't had time to play with it until now. I tried to acknowledge the demonstrator who shared the idea when I could find out who it was.

This card was inspired by Pat Fairless and uses the tools in a very creative way to spell a word.

Dimensions:

  • 5 ½” X 8 ½” Basic Gray cardstock, score in landscape at 4 ¼”
  • 5 ¼” X 4” Woodgrain DSP (Country Woods)
  • 5 ¼” X 4” White cardstock (for inside)
  • 5 ¼” X 3 ½” Vanilla cardstock to die cut pegboard and Nested Essentials largest sign shape
  • Scrap White cardstock to stamp in black, color, and die cut hammer, tape measure, 2 adjustable wrenches, and 3 pencils
  • Stamp sentiment and images as desired on the inside white piece
  • 3 Black Dot

This card was inspired by Diane Beaudoin (handstampedbydiane). I used a retired stamp set (Work of Art) to stamp the brushstroke.

Dimensions:

  • 5 ½” X 8 ½” Basic White cardstock, score in landscape at 4 ¼”
  • 5 ¼” X 4” Basic Black cardstock
  • 5” X 3 ¾” Basic White cardstock, emboss with drywall folder after stamping brush strokes in Pappoy Parade, Crushed Curry, and Blueberry Bushel
  • Scrap white cardstock to stamp, color & die cut 3 paintbrushes
  • Scrap Poppy Parade, Blueberry Bushel, and Crushed Curry cardstock to die cut the paint for the brush tips
  • 2 3/4" X 1 1/2" and 2 1/4" X 1 1/4" Black cardstock (background labels for sentiment labels)
  • 2 1/2" X 1 1/4" and 2" X 1" White Cardstock for sentiment labels, stamp sentiments in black ink
  • 3 black gems

This card was inspired by a pin that I saw on Pinterest by Pam Brown. I never could find another person associated with the idea, and this is my version using retired and other embossing folders called diamond plate and riveted metal.

Dimensions:
  • 5 ½” X 8 ½” Black cardstock; score in landscape at 4 ¼”
  • 5 ¼” X 4” White cardstock (X 2, one for inside)
  • 3 ¾” X 2 ½” Silver Foil cardstock, emboss with folder
  • 3 ¾” X 2 ½” Crushed Curry cardstock, die cut with pegboard die
  • Scraps of Real Red, Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, Lost Lagoon, Silver Foil, and White cardstocks to die cut (stamp the paintbrush and pencil in black on white cardstock & color before die cutting; die cut Hammer handle in Red, pliers handles in Lagoon, Drill body in Navy and Moonlight, Adjustable Wrench in Navy, Toolbox and handle in Red, Hammer head, Drill head, Pliers, Adjustable Wrench head, and Wrench in Silver)
  • Stamp sentiment on toolbox in black ink, stamp sentiment and images on the white piece for the inside as desired.
