There has been so many new ideas shared by other Demonstrators, and I appreciate their creativity to draw from. My November class will share two fun folds that I derived from fellow Demonstrators using stamps, dies and papers that I had on hand.
One fun fold that I found was by Claire. I couldn't find her last name, but her website is Created the Ottaway. This is a pop out easel card. I used the designer series paper from the 2024 July-December Mini Catalog called Nests of Winter. Also used was Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, and Crumb Cake (retired) cardstock; Nested Essentials dies; Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-backed Berries; and Peaceful Boughs stamps & dies (retired).
Base Card:
4 1/4" X 11" color cardstock; score in landscape at 5 1/2"
4" X 5 1/4" Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Easel Stand:
4 1/4" X 4 1/2" color cardstock; score in landscape at 3/4", 1 1/2", 2 1/4" 3" and 3 3/4"
Pop Out Mechanism:
1 1/2" X 2" color cardstock; score in portrait at 3/4" (Note: this may need to be resized to fit behind the die cut piece)
Inside Card:
3 7/8" X 5 1/8" DSP
Scrap cardstock for stamped images/labels/die cuts and cutouts from DSP
Would be good to use Winterly Tree Tops bundle. You can watch my video for instructions.
The other fun fold is a Four-Fold Hinge Card by Verna Mullen. I used stamps, dies and papers that I had, and you can use this technique to create whatever you want with what you have.
Color cardstock: ( I used Smoky Slate & Basic Gray and Misty Moonlight & Night of Navy)
5 1/2" X 11"; score in landscape at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 5 1/4" and 7" (base)
1 1/2" X 6 7/8"; score in landscape at 3 7/16" (hinge)
White cardstock:
Scrap pieces for die cuts and labels
3 3/4" X 5 1/4" for the back of the card, if desired
Designer Series Paper: (I used Winter Meadow)
1 1/2" X 5 1/4" for the 1st and 4th sections
3 1/4" X 5 1/4" for large middle section, or 2 more 1 1/2" X 5 1/4" separate pieces
3 3/4" X 5 1/4" for the large inside back section
1 1/4" X 6 7/8"; score in landscape at 3 7/16" to decorate hinge, if desired (I made a snowbank)
You can watch the video for instructions. I used In the Pines stamp set (retired), Pine Woods dies (retired), Grove dies (for the deer), Peaceful Season stamps and dies, and Greetings of the Season stamps and dies. This would be good to use Peaceful Evergreens (p. 24 September-December 2024 mini catalog) or Forever Forest (p. 76 2024-2025 Annual catalog).
